Description
working on it since a few months , I finally made the following conclusion:
virtualbox is not able to run a classic opensuse 13.2 distribution and may be more.
we manage to run it , but with slow graphic/network performances only with latest 4.x releases, and since 5.x relases that is dramatic !
=> bad mouse behaviour (screen flickering) => slow video performance. (unusable for linux developers, you open popup menus, it makes times before displaying ..no accel) => video driver unable to find native resolution. => slow network performances
So, for us, it is time to conclude and either have a solution or use a WORKING vm alternative:
- do we need a specific host system ????
we tried it on a dell lattitude e5550 and other systems, these are good perf systems.
- no virtualbox efficient support ?
- is virtualbox a piece of cheat ?
who is really using it in a confortable way ????

Works fine in my test here. Note: SUSE include an out-dated version of the Additions in the 13.2 default installation. Our installer warns about this. You need to remove them before installing the current ones. This is, I think, not a VirtualBox problem.

5.1.2 additions have been setted up. ICH9 chipset has been selected.
The major problem is with video. Depending on the win32 architecture machine you run it, it is not able to always propose video native resolution.
Impossible to have 3d video accel, otherwise the mouse / display refresh does not work.thus poor performance.
This is an opensuse 13.2 with KDE 5 framework repositories. KDE Frameworks 5: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Frameworks5/openSUSE_13.2/
Do you want a clone of the VM ??

For a start, you should attach a machine log file. Do I understand that you have tried this on different host systems? If so, did that make a difference? Do you have a Linux host available to test on?

I added a log file. In this mode, 3D is enabled in configuration. But mouse And screen behaves erradically, badly.

Do these problems also occur with a freshly installed (from official openSUSE installation media) virtual machine? If so, can you find anything which triggers the problems (for example, but not limited to the amount of memory, number of CPUs, 3D pass-through enabled or not, Guest Additions installation, KDE 5 framework repository addition)? And this happened consistently on different hosts you say. Were they all Windows hosts? Do you have a non-Windows host to try on? And did you always use the same virtual machine image or different ones?
Lots of questions. Since I do not currently have much time to look at this I am instead giving you ideas about how you can look at it yourself and hopefully get further.

Shall I close this as a duplicate then and add you to the CC list for #14102?
