With Virtualbox 5.1.2 I get the following when trying to installing (with version 5.0 it didn't happen):
/opt/VirtualBox/vboxdrv.sh: line 147: test: : integer expression expected /opt/VirtualBox/vboxdrv.sh: line 150: test: : integer expression expected

I suspect that we can remove that code altogether. It is a workaround that we introduced in 2006 when we discovered that certain old (at that time) versions of udev did not work with the default code. The default code is still the default now.

Done that. This should be fixed in future releases. Still no idea why no one else reported this.
