Reported by: DmitryB Owned by:
Component: other Version: VirtualBox 5.1.2

Guest type: Linux Host type: Mac OS X

Description

After upgrade to VBox 5.0.26 I am getting the following error message:

The VM session was aborted.

Result Code: NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)
Component: SessionMachine
Interface: ISession {7844aa05-b02e-4cdd-a04f-ade4a762e6b7}

Downgrade to 5.0.24 fixes the problem. Also, I observe the problem in 5.1.2 and 5.1.3 (test build).

OS: Mac OS X 10.11.6 RAM: 16Gb CPU: Intel Core i7 2.2 GHz

I'm experiencing this issue too, as described here: https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=78871 As far as I can tell it's exclusive to OS X 10.11.6 (works fine in 10.11.5), and only affects VMs with a "NAT" type connection (works fine with "NAT Network").

If the VM session aborted then there should be either a crash dump or you can force Mac OS X to create a core dump, see also here.

I have reproduced the issue again and uploaded core dump to Dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ydth10z3wroujtl/core.9622.zip?dl=0

The issue appears to have been introduced in VirtualBox 5.0.26. I had this issue with 5.1.6, 5.1.4, 5.0.26. While I do not have this issue with 5.0.24. I am on OS X 10.11.6.

Upgrading to VirtualBox 5.1.8 appears to fix this issue for me.
