#15626 closed defect (fixed)
AC97 and .vbox XML versions 1.13, 1.14 => fixed in SVN

Description
If you have:
- AC97 as your sound controller, and
- Your .vbox file is version 1.13 or 1.14,
the <Audio> section gets deleted. Manually changing the XML version to 1.15 before you start VirtualBox is the current workaround. Not sure what it does to the rest of the configuration, but I've seen no ill side-effects so far.

Klaus, thank you for the update. 2 questions:
- I recently noticed the Developer Builds. Do these contain the "fixed in SVN" fixes (generally speaking), after a day or two?
- Does manually change the XML version to 1.15 have any side effects?

Klaus wrote back on the developer's mailing list:
(Changing the XML version) would only help if you stick to 5.1.0, and a certain percentage of the users would edit the files while VirtualBox is running, no matter how often you repeat that it's a bad idea otherwise. The next test build will have the fix (and any 5.1 build later than r108825).
P.S.: Host OS is irrelevant :D
Thank you Klaus for the info.

Fix is part of the most recent 5.1 test build for Mac OS X. (As Klaus said, every host is affected but for now I only updated Mac OS X).
Tracked it down to over-optimization in the audio settings write logic in 5.1.0. Fix is in subversion, will be part of 5.1.2.
