#15429 closed defect (obsolete)

Slow screen updates after maximizing gvim window

Reported by: Sam Morris Owned by:
Component: other Version: VirtualBox 5.0.20

Guest type: Linux Host type: Windows

Description

If I run gvim and then maximize the window, Virtualbox stops updating the screen. Input is still recognized and processed by the virtual machine, it's just the video that stops.

If Virtualbox loses the focus then when it regains the focus, it will update the screen a single time. This behaviour persists until the VM is restarted.

I have seen a similar problem. I noted it here: https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=77913 .

My problem happened under 5.0.20 and still happens under 5.0.22.

Could this be a duplicate of ticket #15511? If so, I would be grateful if someone could try out what I suggested there (and give feedback there, not here of course).

This is no longer an issue. My recollection was that it turned out to be a problem with the guest OS, but I'm afraid I no longer remember the details. Sorry about that. :(
