15052,VBox Manager icons don't adequately distinguish VMs - icons almost useless,SchemaCzar,,"A VirtualBox VM is a terrific way to isolate development environments. Most of our team have VirtualBox Manager screens with fifteen or twenty separate VMs. In such a case visual distinction of the VMs in the list becomes important for efficient use.

VirtualBox manager currently has icons only distinguishing the guest operating system. This was appropriate for the longstanding use case of desktop virtualization, namely, to provide a user with one or two guest environments in which to run different from the host environment - especially, running a Windows PC in an OS X or Linux host.

For developing server-level software the operating system distinction among VMs is zero. I have 9 boot2docker VMs all with the Tux's-foot icon. Not only should there be a Docker icon (or Vagrant or whatever) but it should be possible to customize or replace the icon to provide highly specific visual distinction among VMs.

This is part of the rationale behind the implementation of the VM folders request. And in the same way it is probably desirable to provide icons for the VM folders as well.",defect, new, other,VirtualBox 5.0.14,,,,other,other
