Please try to uninstall the current VBox installation, reboot, then try to install VBox 5.0.14. Does that help?

Installation Failure Message

Hi I have the same problem. Win 10 Home. VirtualBox 4.3.34 works without problems. VirtualBox 5.0.14 cannot be installed (uninstall, reboot, another try to install didn't work, too). Installation every time is rolling back. Installation failure message is displayed (see attached file). Thanks for help.

Short story: I had the exact same issues, also described in the forum as https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=76423

Host is Windows 10 Pro 32-bit, build 10586, joined in an Active Directory domain.

I reproduced the same problem on another system. Different hardware but same OS and specs. Could it be only related to 32-bit Windows 10?

In any case, I was able to install by modifying a LogLevel registry key (check the forum thread), but now I am unable to either uninstall or install the latest virtualbox extensions.

I can provide logs, just point to what I should enable (registry- and file-wise) before trying to uninstall, to help you with troubleshooting.

Please modify the bug report title along the lines of (for example): 5.0.14 installation stalls/fails on Win 10 hosts

Just noticed that 5.0.16 is out. I tried to install it over my existing and problematic 5.0.14 installation; failed again.

I also tried to make a 5.0.16 clean install on another Windows 10 Pro 32-bit host, on which 5.0.14 failed. On this system, 5.0.16 installed like a charm! There goes my 32-bit theory...

On both systems VMWare vSphere client is installed. Some way we can obtain debugging logs or something like that?

Please enable logging for the installation process and attach the resulting log files here.

Enabling logging made the process complete succesfully! Only with that change that is!

Then I tried to uninstall. After waiting for some ages, a dialog box popped up stating that "Install server is not responding".

I am including the setupapi.* log files found, hope they help. If not, please tell me what else to try...
