Incorrect reporting of CPUs Available OSX Hosts

Reported by: Louis King Jr Owned by:
Component: GUI Version: VirtualBox 5.0.12
Keywords: Cc:
Guest type: all Host type: Mac OS X

Description

Yhis issue has been going on for years and I thought I had filed a bugtracker ticket but I'm not sure. On OSX hosts, in the VirtualBox GUI Processor tab, the warning that you have exceeded the physical CPUs doesn't occur until you exceed the number of threads instead of cores. And the maximum number of vCPUs available is twice the number of threads.

It is different than Windows and Linux hosts. I'm including a random vbox.log just so this report isn't rejected.

Thank you for the report and in particular for the hint that this is different from Linux/Windows. We've just fixed the problem. The most recent 5.0 Mac OS X test build contains the fix.
