DRI3 breaks 3D support in Windows 10 guest on Linux 4.3 -> host operating system problem

Reported by: mrvanes Owned by:
Component: 3D support Version: VirtualBox 5.0.10
Keywords: DRI3 Cc:
Guest type: Windows Host type: Linux

Description

Running kernel 4.3 I recently switched to DRI3 because of EGL glitches in Plasma desktop. This works like a charm, no problems so far.

Only problem now is that Windows 10 guest hangs when 3D acceleration is enabled. Switching back to DRI2 or disabling 3D in guest settings fixes the problem.

Guest hangs after login (presumably after loading the 5.0.10 virtualbox guest additions).

Attached are the last lines in the log from the moment the guest hangs.

Try to update libxcb to version 1.11.1 There is a deadlocks issue between libxcb and mesa. See also https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84252
