Much slower VM on El Capitan

Reported by: FW-Alex Owned by:

Description

I've seen really significant slowness since El Capitan last week. Mouse clicks and the keyboard are several seconds of lag between actual click or keying and seeing it on the screen.

I'm running a Windows 10 VM guest, and I did update to VirtualBox 5.0.6 today and ran the new guest additions as well - no improvement.

My host machine if it matters is a Retina 5k iMac, AMD Radeon R9 M290X , 4Ghz i7, 32GB of Ram - I've been running this setup for the last few months and my VM has been zero lag and no performance issues whatsoever until the El Capitan update.

I am also unable to set my resolution higher than 1600x1200 now as well, after the latest reboot of the VM guest.

This seems to exactly my experience of Windows 10 (32 bit) on El Capitan. It is now so slow as to be unusable, and I'm on Version 5.0.10 r104061

Not able to reproduce. Can you exactly specify what changed on your host when this "lag" experience started? Did you upgrade VBox, did you upgrade the host OS or did you upgrade both at the same time?
