    12 Since you mention it crashing inside a Qt library, I'd just like to remind you that I have qt-3.3.6-26.el5.x86_64, which is the version that comes with CentOS/RHEL 5.  According to [https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch02.html#idp95753184 chapter 2.3.1 of the user manual] that I do not have the required version of Qt 4.8.0 or higher.

    14 I just tonight noticed the note in the green box on that user manual page; is it new?  It states that I could run VBoxSDL or VBoxHeadless to avoid using Qt.  I don't have time to try that right now, but should be able to on Sunday.
