#1424 closed defect (obsolete)

Two USB devices with the same PID and VID are not handled correctly

Description

If two USB devices that share the same product ID and vendor ID (although I'm not sure that this is really the problem, it could happen with other combinations, too) are connected before a VM starts and the VM has an USB filter that is defined by exactly those two IDs, then only one device gets captured and the other one only works when replugged. If one tries to connect it using the USB icon in the lower right hand side corner, it fails stating that the "USB device [...] is busy (waiting for a state change)" (see attached image).

I just found out that even if you add two USB filters with different serials, exactly the same happens.

nothing has changed in version 4.1.12 r77245. I am experiencing the same error and am commenting here because doing a google search for "virtualbox multiple usb devices" showed this ticket at # 2
