iPod Touch still does not work. no crashing now, but not recognised by itunes unless in recovery mode — at Initial Version

i am using the latest VBox, on Ubuntu 7.10 and am trying to sync my iPod touch.
i would love to be able to actually sync my ipod, but it is only recognised by itunes in recovery mode. i have attached some screenshots of the problem in action.
