Description
Hello,
I have installed VM VirtualBox 4.3.26 on Windows XP host. Then I installed the extension pack related to that version. Before installing it, I checked the MD5 checksum of the file and it mached. After the installation I tried to start my guest virtual machine (OS: Windows XP SP 3) but I got the following error:
Apertura di una sessione per la Macchina Virtuale Windows_XP non riuscita. (= Opening a session to the Virtual Machine Windows_XP failed.) Implementation of the USB 2.0 controller not found! Because the USB 2.0 controller state is part of the saved VM state, the VM cannot be started. To fix this problem, either install the 'Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack' or disable USB 2.0 support in the VM settings (VERR_NOT_FOUND). Exit Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005) Component: Console Interface: IConsole {8ab7c520-2442-4b66-8d74-4ff1e195d2b6}
I didn't change anything, I just upgraded the VM tool as the program suggested me to do in the update information box that appears when a new version is available. (The downloaded version is an .exe file. It is not a self compiled version).
The Guest Addiction are not yet installed because my VM doesn't start. The Virtual Box has been upgraded while everything was in shutdown state. The "Discard saved state" is not available in my menu, so I will not be able to do that action if everything will fails.
In the attached file you will find the log file of my VM.
Thank you.

I have exactly the same problem which was not there in .24. Several VMs will not start, with the Iconsole error message. Also on XP, like the OP.

"Failed to resolve exported symbol 'VBoxExtPackRegister". Could you also attach the VBoxStartup.log file for such a VM session?

Strange, it's working today. Who knows with Windows? Anyway I've attached Vbox.log file for this working session, in case you want to check for any strangeness.
