Network interface between host and client

Reported by: AlanL Owned by:
Component: network/NAT Version: VirtualBox 4.3.22
Keywords: Cc:
Guest type: Windows Host type: Mac OS X

Description

Host: 10.9.5 on retina MBP Guest: Win7 64-bit installed on bootcamp VB Version: 4.3.22 r98236 Guest additions: VBoxGuestAdditions_4.3.23-98282.iso Network Adapter 1: NAT, Promiscuous mode on for VMs only, Cabled Connected Network Adapter 2: Bridged Adapter en0 wifi, Promiscuous mode on for VMs only

  1. VBOXSRVR displays no content. I have mapped a network drive using VirtualBox Manager (F:) that displays the host directory but the client (Windows) shows Disconnected Network Drive (F:). I can open files on the host through F despite Windows reports it is not connected.
  2. Bidirectional Drag and Drop is enabled but does not work, in either direction.
  3. The client reports no network connections are found including internet or ethernet, however Firefox on the client loads internet content correctly.

The shared folders problem is most likely fixed in the next maintenance release (this was a 4.3.22 regression).

Please open separate tickets for separate problems.
