The define is meant to move rendering unconditionally to a separate thread. 2 2 3 3 All you found out is that removing out a define (which was introduced before 4.3.16 was released) has a positive effect for some people with an NVIDIA graphics card. We don't know if all NVIDIA users are affected or if it has a negative effect for some. What's totally unknown is the situation for non-NVIDIA graphics cards.
