Description
After updating Virtualbox, I can no longer open my VMs.
My pre-existing Windows 7 x32 VM just hangs on the loading screen and says "Not Responding" and I created a new Windows 7 x32 VM and that just hangs loading the windows files from the ISO.
Host is Win 8.1 x64.

Downgrading to 4.3.16 has got my old VM working again.
It did take about four attempts, as Virtualbox was just throwing up an error box but after persisting it launched eventually and booted into the guest.

It's actually not fixed properly even by downgrading. I installed a fresh Win 7 x32 VM and was rebooting after each batch of Windows Updates and that was fine but then I shutdown and had the same problem when starting it again, just getting some error message for four or five tries before it finally worked. So it looks like I'll get this every time I start the VM from cold, or maybe even resuming from saved state.

Replying to frank:
Any change with VBox 4.3.20?
Nope, just tried 4.3.20.96997 and upon trying to resume my VM, I got some cryptic error and then trying to Start Windows Normally, it just hangs on the bootscreen until I click on it, when it crashes. Tested several times with two different VMs.
I only tried upgrading as for some reason, 4.3.16 doesn't even launch at all anymore. I've tried killing a load of other stuff, so maybe a Windows Update has knackered it?
