Debian 3.1 host freezes

Description
Debian 3.1(kernel 2.6.8-2-k7) host, Windows 2000(without any SP) guest. When saving machine state(choosing "Save the machine state" checkbox), saving process reaches 100%, virtual machine windows disappears, and then my system freezes-the only possiblity is to press the "RESET" button :( It happens in 100% cases. Taking normal snapshot seems to work fine.
