This dialog box is shown when starting Virtual Box 4.3.14.r95030 the first time (and subsequently on each start) *after* it is started for the first time automatically by the installation process. 

This is on a fairly new/clean copy/install of Windows 8 (not 8.1) Pro.

The network logon failed. This may be because the validation authority cannot be reached.

No home sharing group is active on this machine, no windows active/appstore account logged in, and ""home"" setting for network connection, if any of these matter. All other network functionality works fine in Windows.
