I am a linux user. I run ubuntu 14.04.

This bug involve nvidia/virtualbox/steam.


When i play cs source from steam for linux my computer freezes, the fans and cpu goes 100% workload. and then shutdown.

I tried so many kernel versions and nvidia drivers, but the crash still occured.

Nvidia has fallen off bus i saw in logs.

I tried to put nvidia in persistence mode with: nvidia-smi -pm 1
And tried to set powermizer to performance mode, but with no success.

The system still crashed.

I read on the internet that someone has a system that crashed after starting virtualbox.

I dont think twice, uninstalled virtualbox completely. 

Now i play cs source on steam for linux without any problem. OBS: The system always crash when i was playing cs source on steam. But when i removed virtualbox the crash disapeared.

I dont know why is it happening, but my workaround was uninstalling vbox. I installed vmware in your place, and even the system doesnt crashed anymore.

I would like to know other solution, because sometimes i need virtualbox.

I assinged some logs.
