Guru Meditation: Invalid Jump Instruction

Description
I am trying to boot a custom kernel (based on the one used in OS X Server) in VirtualBox. It keeps giving me a Guru Meditation (log attached) at a location I have resolved to the following instruction:
ljmpl $0x08,$64f
($64f is a reference to the next line of assembler, which reads 64:.)
I believe that the jump instruction is either invalid, or it causes a bug in VirtualBox to manifest. Does anyone have an idea which is which?
(Minor bug because while this is very important to me, it is important to pretty much no one else. I would still appreciate an answer, though. I’m sorry if this isn’t an appropriate bug, but I know of nowhere else to ask it.)
