USB dongle generates error message when VirtualBox is started

I get the following message if the USB software protection dongle is connected when I start Windows XP as a guest: Failed to attach the USB device: Unknown device 0000:0000 to the virtual machine Windows XP.
Failed to create a proxy device for the USB device. (Error: VERR_BROKEN_PIPE).
Result code: 0x80004005 Component: Console Interface: IConsole
This started happening in 1.5.2. This did not happen in 1.4.0. Despite the message, the VM recognizes the device and it works fine. Somehow, the device ID changes to 07F2:0001 [0001].
