Error while mounting shared folder in Ubuntu 12.04 from Windows 7 Host

Description

When I try to mount a shared folder in my guest OS, it fails.

$ sudo mount -t vboxsf vmshare ~/vmshare

There is no error reported on screen. The error code returned by mount is 2.

I have attached the result of dmesg after the command was run. Setup: Windows 7 Host Ubuntu12.04 Guest

I read about issue 928. I have tried shared folders with different names and different mount points; the error is always the same.

Please could you attach the vboxsf.ko module from your guest to this ticket? Please use the 'Attach file' button.

Status: newclosed

Please reopen if still relevant with a recent VirtualBox release.
