VB4.3.4: Critical error when starting a program on WinXP guest

Description
I experience a critical error when I open the program MindExpress in windows XP. This problem occurs in Virtual Box 4.3.4. In VirtualBox 4.2.20 it works OK
I use Mind Express to manage my Zingui communication aid, a winCE device. In a Virtual Box Machine, communication with this device only works with WinXP/Active Sync.
After starting the MindExpress program, a critical error occurs. This is before any window from MindExpress is drawn.
A log-file is attached. Host system: macbook 5,1 running OS 10.9 Guest OS: Windows XP
