12365,Unable to start any VM session on OSX host KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE,asplodzor,,"VirtualBox crashes every time I try to start any image.

Steps to reproduce my results:

1. Start VirtualBox
2. Create a 32-bit or 64-bit VM to install Windows 7 or Ubuntu 12.04
3. Start the VM
4. Point the VM to a valid ISO of either Windows 7 or Ubuntu.
5. VirtualBox returns this error:

{{{
Failed to open a session for the virtual machine Ubuntu 32-bit.

The VM session was aborted.

I'm using OSX 10.6.8 Snow Leopard on a 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo Macbook with 4GB of RAM (Model Identifier is MacBook4,1) I'm trying to use VirtualBox 4.3.0 r89960. My $HOME/Library/VirtualBox/ directory doesn't have a Machines/ folder, so, I have no VBox.log files to post. I'm assuming this is because VirtualBox crashed before it is able to load the guest and create the Machines/ folder to dump logs into.

I have tried repairing my disk permissions. Also, as far as I understand, the VM must be running with the same kernel bitsize as the host kernel. To that end, I have tried to start the computer with the 32-bit and the 64-bit kernel using both of the methods on this page: [http://support/apple.com/kb/HT3773]. Oddly though, the computer never seems to run with the 64-bit kernel.

I have searched the forums and the bugtracker but have not found any related tickets.",defect,closed,other,VirtualBox 4.3.0,fixed,KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE OSX Ubuntu Windows,,all,Mac OS X
