Description

The method for accomplishing this appears to be simple. First, boot without any USB Devices attached. Second, Open VirtualBox. Third, Plug in USB. Fourth, When the 'New Device' screen comes up, Allow an automatic search for driver. Fifth, Once a driver is found, allow the system to install it. Sixth, After the driver is installed, the Host Blue Screens.

The blue screen says among other things, vboxusbmon.sys faults at memory address A89F7463. The Stop code says {0's}1c, {0's}2, {0's}1 address 0xA89F7463.

This ticket and #12100, #12137, #12119 are all related to USB3.0 port on the host computer.. I have experience it all and can easily be reproduced...

read my experience here https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=57110

I found it all during my search for an answer which seemed to have been neglected for a long time...

and now are in dire need of attention because a lot of pcs are now comes without USB2.0

Please try this test build.

Test build 89545 is available. It won't make problematic devices to appear in guests, but it should prevent host crashes. Please take a look at #12119.
