Description
I've been using this for a long time and it's kind of annoying when you want to add additional network adapter and/or a hardisk devices that you need to shut the host down first to be able to add them up, it's quite tedious to close your snapshots on that running VM just to have a new network and/or additional hardisk because the existing one is not working or it has a problem/conflict and full already, unlike in VMWare vSphere Client, that one has a feature like that(things that you can add network/hardisk devices etc. even the host is running). So want to file this as additional feature if possible that I guess is possible, adding additional network/hardisk devices while the host(s) is running...
Thanks, hoping this to be included in your next release(s).

Please reopen if still relevant with a recent VirtualBox release.
I think you mix host and guest. The host is the machine which hosts your VM. On the host runs VirtualBox. The guest is executed inside a VirtualBox VM.
What you are talking about is actually hotplugging if disks and network adapters. The former is already possible although not implemented in the GUI yet. But it should be possible with VBoxManage to attach/detach SATA drives at VM runtime. This is not possible for network adapters as for all PCI devices.
Enabling/disabling devices at runtime sounds simple but as I said, finally it maps to hotplugging which is much more complicated.
