Yesterday everything was fine on them but we did an OS update to this via ""pkg update --install"" to update the entire OS.

Repository is the latest and greatest internal to Oracle nightly, http://ipkg.us.oracle.com/solaris11/dev/

after upgrading here, I get VERR_ACCESS_DENIED and NS_ERROR_FAILURE messages in the log file. Attempting to launch ANY image is impossible.

Attemted diagnosis: this machine has been running VB for just about forever. Even so, I uninstalled SUNWvbox and blew away user's .VirtualBox subdir. I completely reinstalled using the 4.2.12 packages and extension kit

pkgadd -d VirtualBox-4.2.12-SunOS-r84980.pkg
VBoxManage extpack install --replace <ext pack, the latest>

I checked that I was in the group, etc

The main dialog launches but trying to select File->Preferences crashes it.
I tried adding an image cleanly, no problem. But booting the image again shows me the NS_ERROR_FAILURE.

It looks like there was something introduced in the latest Solaris 11 that you didn't expect."	defect	closed	other	VirtualBox 4.2.12	fixed	Solaris all	Solaris
