Host+F Enter FullScreen on a monitor in portrait orientation and VM selects wrong resolution

Description
The host has a monitor in portrait orientation : 1050px wide and 1680px high, and a secondary monitor in 1280x1024.
Using Host+F to enter fullscreen mode and the primary VM monitor is not set to the same resolution as the host, and at times the host resolution CAN'T be set from the control panel as it is not an available size in the dropdown.
On different occasions, when entering or exiting full screen, the VM has selected:
- Entering full screen : 1024 x 768
- Entering windows mode : 3200 x 1200 windowed.
- Entering full screen : ? x ? with a random jumble of coloured lines (looks like a disconnect between the window width and the video frame buffer width and the desktop has been broken apart and smeared across the screen)
- Across several resizes, the VM Control Panel 'Screen Resolution' dropdown did NOT include the actual host monitor size (1050x1680), and so the results of entering full-screen could not be manually corrected.

Please reopen if still relevant with a recent VirtualBox release.
Make the following registry entry HKLM/System/CurrentControlSet/services/VBoxGuest/LoggingEnabled = 0xff
Again perform the steps to reproduce the erroneous scenario and attach the VBox.log file. Also please mention whether you are using WDDM or XPDM.
