Crash as application launches in WinXP VM on Mac host

Description
i have a win xp virtual machine for playing age of empires ii in a win xp environment. this whole setup runs on mA C OS 10.8.latest.
As is start the game, and click away the various intro video snippets, the vm just stops. i had three of these in recent days, the crash logs are attached.
The issue may be timing related: i don't really need to see the video any more, so i tend to click as soon as it starts. when i take more time, there is no issue. could be my perception rather than the issue itself, though. or just plain luck.
