Hi,

after new installation with administrator privileges the application does not start but returns the error message:

Das COM-Objekt für VirtualBox konnte nicht erzeugt werden.

Die Anwendung wird nun beendet.

Running the application as a standard user it runs but I can not use Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack-4.2.10-84104.vbox-extpack because of missing privileges.

I am experiencing the same problem and using

• virtualbox 4.2.12 (i tried to go back up to previous versions)
• running win7 on i7-3520 with 6GB or ram 64bits

I have tried to

• regress the versions up to 4.1.x latest but it broght up other problems
• cleared up the whole .VirtualBox folder containing XMLs and so on between re-installs but made no difference.
• i tried to run re-installs and repairs with admin user

I am totally lost and cannot work anymore until i can figure out whats happening. Also I tried to pop in the IRC chat but nobody is answering there either

I have the same Problem here... wanted to install extensions /Guest additions and it returns same error as above. I tried to start VB as Admin by righklick and got the following Error:

What worked for me: start installation with admin privileges, if VB is already installed repair existing installation, and then restart machine.

Any improvement with VBox 4.3.12? I'm asking because this release contains a related bug fix.
