It works fine as a guest to the Windows 7 host VirtualBox 4.2.4.

Attempts to upgrade VirtualBox to 4.2.6, 4.2.8 and 4.2.10 have
been met with a kernel panic early in the boot process.
Uninstalling the offending VirtualBox version and reinstalling
