Description
FreeDOS 1.1 PCNTPK network driver fails to load after upgrade to 4.2.8. Message in FreeDOS 1.1 VM is "Could not access packet driver at INT 0x60." Same FreeDOS 1.1 VM works in 4.2.6. Verified this by uninstalling 4.2.8, reinstall 4.2.6. No changes to FreeDOS 1.1 VM setup. Attaching log file from 4.2.8. FreeDOS 1.1 VM setup is using Bridged Networking and PCnet-FAST III adapter.

I had a similar problem after upgrading from 4.2.6 to 4.2.8. I first noticed that my Guest OS, Ubuntu 12.04, could not connect to the internet. I tried to check the status of my wireless router through its admin page and this also failed. The error messages reported a socket failure.
Then I noticed that the VM VirtualBox Administrator tool also failed when checking for updates. I uninstalled 4.2.8 and installed 4.2.6 to fix the problem.
I am using PCNet-Fast III (NAT).

Very strange as we did not do any change to the PCNet device emulation code between 4.2.6 and 4.2.8. BradGreer, which VirtualBox Administrator tool are you referring to? Do you mean the VBox VM selector, so a network problem on the host?
