Drag and Drop to Replace File in Ubuntu Locks Up VM

Description
I am running Ubuntu 12.04 with KDE as the host machine and Ubuntu 10.04 as the guest machine. When I drag a file from Dolphin in KDE on the host onto the desktop of the guest and the file being copied already exists, a problem occurs. The guest OS will popup a message asking if the file should be replaced, but the guest VM is locked up because the "Dropping Data" popup in the Host OS appears to be a modal window. When this happens the guest VM window fades its color and the Dropping Data popup sits at 99% forever. The only way to recover is to force close the entire guest VM.
I have been able to reproduce this issue multiple times. There is a period of about 3 seconds after dropping the file and before the "Dropping Data" popup where the guest OS replace file popup can be addressed, but if not pressed in that time then the guest OS locks up.

After further testing, the issue seems to happen even if the file being dragged and dropped does not exist in the guest VM. The Dropping data popup still gets stuck at 99% and the guest VM needs to be force closed to recover. Clicking the cancel button on the Dropping data popup does not help.
