Description
Host can't see the traffic between two VM's with their nics configured with conntection:'host-only' promiscuous:'allow all'
Expected behaviour: see the traffic between two VM's with their nics configured in 'host-only' promiscuous 'allow all' mode.
Test: Generate a 'host only' network Build three linux guests "G1, G2"
Configure their nic's with:
Connected to: 'host only' Promiscuous mode: 'allow all' Cable connected: ticked.
Launch both Guests. Configure host's virtual nic. Configure guests' vrtual nics.
pings: G1 <-> G2 OK G1 <-> H OK G2 <-> H OK
open a wireshark in G2 and start it open a wireshark in the host and start it in the virtual NIC.
ping: G1 <--> H : sniffed by G2 G1 <--> G2: NOT sniffed by H
Replace host with a corretly configured guest (G3) G1 <--> G3: sniffed by G2
I've found some forum posts with reporting the same issue.

I'm also experiencing this issue. Is anyone at Oracle working on this or is ticket11264 not a bug but a feature ? My following question is ofcourse, when a solution would be available ?
If all the replies are negative, has anyone found a workaround for this bug ?

Please reopen if still relevant with a recent VirtualBox release.
My line breaks were deleted... can't edit them...
It should read:
