Back and forward keyboard keys not working

Description
Since upgrading to VirtualBox version 4.2.4r81684, the back and forward navigation keys on my keyboard are no longer recognized by my Debian Linux guest. For clarification, I am speaking of the keys that are used to go backward or forward in one's browsing history in a web browser or similar application. When I press them, the guest does not receive any input. They were working fine in the previous version.

Which version of VirtualBox were you using before upgrading? Do the keys work again if you downgrade?
