Description

Issue

As documented in this thread --> https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=51960

I am running OpenSuse --> "... OS: Linux 3.4.11-2.16-desktop x86_64 System: openSUSE 12.2 (x86_64) KDE: 4.8.5 (4.8.5) "release 2" ..."

Steps of issue

1) I had Virtualbox version: 4.1.22

2) I went to the new button to create a new image

3) At the "Use existing virtual hard drive, I click the browse icon, and get this error dialog --> "Could not start process Cannot talk to klauncher: Not connected to D-Bus server." - no joy, the end.

4) Upgraded to Virtualbox version: 4.2.4 (did this on 10/27/12)

5) Followed steps 1 thru 3 -- same problem.

6) Then, I did this as per the forum thread above --> "The upgrade to open Suse 12.2 installs v1.5.12-4.6.1 of dbus-1, dbus-1-x11 & libdbus-1-3. I rolled them back to 1.5.12-4.1.2 and that fixed it"

7) Followed steps 1 thru 3 -- Success!

Based on the thread you linked to and the bug report mentioned in that thread<1> this seems to be a DBus/openSUSE bug with a fix in progress. Perhaps you can see if their test fix works for you?
