    3 I think it would be better to debug the power off hang as that is the first problem you run into. However, if it's easier let's focus on the crash on kill issue -- if that is one, then you have a workable solution.

    55You need to setup your system to automatically generate core dumps when a process crashes. Depending on how you start VirtualBox, you have to put the right environment settings (ulimit etc., see the docs as pointed out by Frank) at the right place. Once you manage to reproduce the issue, you need to provide core dumps of VBoxSVC and a couple of VBoxHeadless processes.
