1	1	I confirm that virtualbox 4.3.12 on 64 bit windows 7 host has the same problems: severe redraw(window z-order) artifacts when 3D acceleration is enabled make the system hardly usable. For example: task switching sometimes doesn't bring up the correct window, e. g. when chrome browser has open pages with animation or whatever. Sometimes window is partially not redrawn until some mouse movement around the area is done. Guest is 64 bit ubuntu 13.10 with gnome/unity desktop. Turning 3d acceleration off solves the problem, but GUI is really slow.

	3	PS: The above redraw problems appear only in case windows 7 basic theme is used. Switching to aero theme fixes most of the problems in 3D accelerated mode, only host menu disappears sometimes when screen is refreshed.
