I have now experienced this extremely serious problem twice now, once with the current version and once with the previous version. 

I had a Linux guest running, and I restarted Windows 7. VirtualBox brought up the ""Shutdown"" menu and I selected to ""Power Off Machine"". After I restart Windows, VirtualBox now says ""Inaccessible"" - the .vbox file is just gone. Total data loss. Not good.
