Which package of VirtualBox do you have installed (exact package name please) and which Linux distribution are you using?

comment:2 Changed 23 months ago by wbrana

I have installed app-emulation/virtualbox-bin-4.1.16 on Gentoo ~amd64

comment:3 Changed 23 months ago by frank

This sounds like the Gentoo guys messed up the package. Please retry using the generic Linux package from this website, see Linux_Downloads.

So any change with VBox 4.1.16?

comment:6 Changed 23 months ago by wbrana

I have accidentally posted unrelated log from 4.1.6. You can check log from 4.1.16 if Gentoo guys messed up package. Network is broken with 4.1.16.

I found following line in VBoxSVC.log, don't know if it is related 00:00:41.794 Watcher ERROR [COM]: aRC=E_ACCESSDENIED (0x80070005) aIID={c28be65f-1a8f-43b4-81f1-eb60cb516e66} aComponent={VirtualBox} aText={The object is not ready}, preserve=false

It seems I can use NAT instead.

I cannot check the Gentoo package. Please reopen this ticket if you can reproduce this problem with the official 4.1.16 package from this website.

Oh, and the VBoxSVC.log messages you posted have nothing to do with your problem.
