Guest type: | Windows | Host type: | Mac OS X |
Description
This is my general preference:
Preferences > Input > Host-Key : RightCMD
In all 4 variations I tried, the app switching command on the host system Mac OS X (CMD-Tab) worked, but the CMD key seems to be not properly captured, as the Windows Menu still got triggered as an unwanted side effect.
Possible a problem of left/right CMD key redundancy? Probably related: #6289
Variations
Preferences > Input > Auto-capture keyboard OFF
- Focus on Windows Notepad
- LeftCMD-Tab to Finder
- Windows menu gets triggered
- Focus on Windows Notepad
- RightCMD (=HOST-key)
- LeftCMD-Tab to Finder
- Windows menu gets triggered
Preferences > Input > Auto-capture keyboard ON
- Focus on Windows Notepad
- LeftCMD-Tab to Finder. Does not bring up the Mac App Switcher, but removes focus from Windows Notepad to something else from Windows (not clear to me what).
- Focus on Windows Notepad
- RightCMD (=HOST-key)
- LeftCMD-Tab to Finder
- Windows menu gets triggered.
