Description

Hi,

I use windows 7 x86_64 version. When started virtualbox I got an window that wanted me to update to 4.1.14 release of virtualbox.

I download and ran the msi package installation. Computer hangs under installation, and a rollback is performed and all files is removed. When try to install virtualbox again same issues happens agen. Is there a registry key that I need to remove to be able make an clean install now?

To clarify I'm unable to install any version of Virtualbox now because all installations is performing an rollback, my installation log file is attached. I want to solve this so I can install virtualbox.

Also having this problem, with no clue how to work around I have been forced to use vmware :-( There are four or five years worth of forum discussion on this topic and it seems several people fall foul of this everytime a new version of Virtualbox is release.

The post above finally gives an explanation ! thankyou.

Sadly still no solution :-(

Any way to workaround this without complete windows re-install would be VERY much appreciated.

Yes, I had to install vmware instead. Converted my vbox image to an vmware image and ran it all from there.
