Can't delete snapshot in 4.1.8

I made a snapshot (by mistake...I thought that was how one was supposed to end a session before going home.) and now I can't delete it. I get the following messages:

Failed to delete the snapshot Snapshot 1 of the virtual machine Win7.

Could not merge the medium '/local/home/skelem/VirtualBox VMs/Win7/Snapshots/{e28386b1-690c-4b83-acf2-f522ce331a65}.vdi' to '/local/home/skelem/VirtualBox VMs/Win7/Win7.vdi' (VERR_INVALID_PARAMETER).

Any ideas on how to fix this or work around it? I need to enlarge the disk image, but can't until the snapshot is deleted!

Is this ever solved??? I have the same problem...

made snaphot - resized disk - not able to delete snapshot.
