internet connection not working after update

Description
I'm quite new to linux and virtualbox..so excuse me if I'm not complete/accurate in describing the problem I've got..
I'm using virtualbox 1.5.2. At the moment my internet connection is not working when using an internetbrowser in virtualbox (need to do so for using websites for ordering printed foto-albums). When using firefox directly in linux everything seems to work normal.
The only changes made are: installing java 6 update 3 and installing the latest firefox update

I've searched the forum for the applicable keywords, but unfortunately couldn't find anything that could seem of use...

Maybe you just misconfigured your network setup. Start with NAT and if you feel brave enough, switch to host interface networking. See the manual for details.
