It happens when Windows XP SP3 installer is going to format disk.
Installing from bootable USB.

Open the main GUI window and select Machine / Show log. Save this log file. If you can provide the log file of such a crash, reopen this ticket. You might also want to try VBox 4.1.12 first in case your problem was fixed.
