Traffic on Host-Only network crashes OSX host — at Initial Version

Description
Host: OSX Lion, 10.7.2 Guest: Linux Ubuntu 11.10 fully updated as of 22nd December 2011, with latest vboxadditions installed
With a host-only adapter in the guest, issuing the command
ssh user@192.168.56.1
in the guest causes the host to crash with a screen of death.
This happens every time and is completely reproducible on my setup.
Interestingly pinging the 192.168.56.1 address is successful.
