Why is the code for CPU VENDOR detection even exists in the first place? Isn't it easier to detect ONLY CPU capabilities (such as Intel VT-x / AMD-V ), rather than CPU vendors ? This would solve problems for future x86 CPU vendors, that could pop-up.
