Perry,

anticipating the questions of the devs: can you give details about the 
VM config (especially which USB controller combination you have enabled 
in each case)?

For the USB3 case - is there a VBox.log giving any hints why the VM 
failed to start?

Likewise for USB1 - any hints in VBox.log that something went wrong?
