I think the best way is for you to look at FreeBSD guest additions code,
study them, and make NetBSD version.

VirtualBox supports FreeBSD unofficially (both host and Guest Additions).

Eventually, if good, your NetBSD code will be included in VirtualBox source
tree (but probably not in Oracle binary packages, as they don't support
FreeBSD either).
